Street Musician Has Been Touched By an Autistic and Blind Angel
While street musician Tyler Gregory was playing his guitar in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. 8-year-old autistic boy Jacob, who is also blind, approached Tyler and put his hand on Tyler’s guitar to feel the beat. Unfazed by Jacob’s move, Tyler continued with the song to keep his new young fan entertained.
In appreciation of Tyler’s kindness to their son, Jacob’s parents posted the video on YouTube with a message, “Tyler … Thank you so much for letting Jacob feel the music!”
Since the video appeared on May 13, Tyler has been overwhelmed by the number of heartwarming emails he has been receiving. His website has been visited for more than 6,000 times in a day compare to around 15 times a day before the video. Tyler used to hope for a couple of CDs sold each week to cover his rent and other expense. He has now sold many times of that within a week.
In response, Tyler wrote this letter on his website to express his thanks to the public. He further explained that he was almost in tears when Jacob touched his guitar -
“Unlike most kids that come up to me with curiosity, I felt so much energy coming off of him and I was completely overwhelmed. His hand on my leg was very powerful and about brought me to tears while playing. Not because he is blind or autistic.. but because of a connection I have never felt and one that is impossible to explain.”
