Besse Cooper Is The World’s Oldest Person At 116

According to Guinness World Records, Besse Cooper who was born in 1896 in Sullivan, Tennessee is the World’s Oldest Person just celebrated her 116th birthday last Sunday!
In honor of Cooper’s achievement, a bridge was named after her in Monroe, Georgia, where she lives by the Walton County Board of Commissioners, according to the Walton Tribune. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday, August 24 for the bridge opening.
Besse had 4 children. Today, she has 12 grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Guinness claims Cooper is one of only eight people who have reached 116.
Cooper told Guinness her secret to old age, “I mind my own business and I don’t eat junk food.”
