Kara Jung: We can all benefit from random acts of kindness

kindnessOUTSIDE the Waffle House in Prattville, Alabama, one evening last week, a homeless man stood with his bike.

Five-year-old Josiah Duncan asked his mum, Ava Faulk, about the man. He was troubled by his appearance. When his mum explained the man had no home or food, Josiah urged her to buy him dinner.

“He came in and sat down, and nobody really waited on him,” Ms Faulk said. “So Josiah jumped up and asked him if he needed a menu because you can’t order without one.” Before the man began eating, Josiah insisted on saying grace with him, bringing the other 11 diners in the restaurant to tears.
