Good Deeds Notts: Sky’s the limit for parachute daredevils as they look to be on cloud nine for Iris

Good deed changes worldFriendships made in a Mapperley coffee shop sparked the goodwill that convinced two men to throw themselves out of a plane for charity.

Costa Coffee barista Jono Parr, of Redhill, and Ron Staff, a regular customer at the Mapperley Top shop, are skydiving 14,000 feet, at speeds of up to 120mph, on Saturday.

Their jump is in memory of another regular customer, Iris Davis, of Woodthorpe, who died, aged 82, in April after a two-and-a-half-year battle with dementia.

The duo are on course to raise more than £2,000 for two charities: Radford Care Group, which looked after Iris and still care for Ron’s mum Daynel Cross, and the Costa Foundation.
