One woman from Michigan is breaking barriers and living her dream. Cheryl Angelelli was paralyzed in a swimming accident when she was 14 year old. Prior to her accident, she spend most of her free time swimming and dancing.

At first she thought she’d never be able to swim and dance again… but things took a turn for the better. Through her strength and perseverance she is now one of the most recognized and decorated athletes with a disability.

She now works with the ‘Dance Mobility Program’ to teach wheelchair ballroom dancing lessons to those going through what she went through years ago. The classes are usually on the other side of the state, but on Saturday morning she brought that inspiration to the MVP Athletic Club in Rockford.

She says she’d like to expand these classes to West Michigan in the future providing a fun activity for others, something that helped her get through tough times.
